SD64 4x4x4 Features:

4 Wheel Drive... excellent traction over rough terrains

4 Wheel Steer... maneuverability into tight places on site

Turf Tires... very gentle on sensitive grass surfaces

Platform Rotation and Jib... allows for improved access to applications

Pre-operation inspection:

  • Inspect for any visible damages, leaks, or loose parts. Inspect tires, hydraulic components

  • Inspect the work area ensuring ground is stable and free from obstacles, debris, or overhead hazards like power lines

Start-Up Procedure

!SD64 can be started from the ground or basket!

From the ground:

  1. Ensure all e-stops are pulled out (both at the ground and basket)

  2. Access ground controls located in the white compartment shroud

  3. Ensure selector switch is on ground control (as apposed to basket)

  4. Ensure main power disconnect is plugged in and receiving power from the batteries

  5. Turn starting key to the left for glow plugs (time holding the key in glow plug position varies on outside temps and frequency of machine being used... for first start up of the day recommendation 7-10 seconds)

  6. Turn key to the right to start the unit

From the basket:

  1. Ensure all e-stops are pulled out (both at the ground and basket)

  2. Ensure main power disconnect is plugged in and receiving power from the batteries

  3. Ensure selector switch (at the ground) is on basket control

  4. Enter the basket and locate the starter key

  5. Turn starter key to the left for glow plugs (time holding the key in glow plug position varies on outside temps and frequency of machine being used... for first start up of the day recommendation 7-10 seconds)

  6. Turn key to the right to start the unit

Shut-Down Procedure

Shutting down the SD64 can be done at either the basket or ground controls. However, no matter where you turn the unit off, ENSURE MAIN POWER DISCONNECT IS DISCONNECTED AT DAYS END, to make sure you have battery life the next day!

Operating the SD64

Once in the basket, moving the machine is done by pressing down on the foot petal and pulling the joystick trigger. Front wheels are controlled by the switch on the joystick. Back wheels are controlled by the switch directly below the joystick. Speed varies on whether the machine is on 1/2 throttle or full throttle as the turtle and rabbit knob.

The only two functions that can be used while outriggers are NOT in use, is 1. Upper Boom and 2. Basket Tilt

Besides that, NO other boom functions will work until all 4 outriggers have been brought to the ground, pressure applied to them, and the unit is level.

Once outriggers have been brought to the ground and the unit is level. That's where the fun begins.

SD64 Standard Basket Controls

NOTE: In order for any function to work, foot trigger must be applied simultaneously

Personally like to begin raising the upper boom up first, then the scissor portion, then begin using the telescoping function. If needed the final function used can be the jib function, which essentially connects the basket to the machine and can be used to get that final reach.

There's also the machine rotation function and basket rotation function

Once it's time to come back down. I'd recommend first telescoping back in, next bringing the scissor portion down just before it reaches the cradle it' supposed to land in, next brining the upper boom down enough so the cradle can visually be seen, next land the scissor portion gently into the cradle, followed by brining the upper boom down to its resting position.
